SHOTOKAI'S HISTORY IN CHILE

Shotokai's history in Chile is the Humberto Heyden`s history but shotokai started officially in 1974, after receiving direct authorization from Master Sodo Kawanabe, in Japan. In 1986, the Shotokai de Chile Organization was founded, at that moment it established it's Hombu Dojo in Concepcion, Chile, a city 500 km. south of Santiago, the capital.In 1990 the Universidad de Concepcion Shotokai Karate Budo group is created, and in 1994 the Universidad del Biobio Karate Shotokai group started its activities. At the moment Shotokai de Chile is in direct contact with  Nihon Karate-Do Shotokai.

During it's existence, Shotokai, has grown little by little, in Concepcion and to other parts of Chile, thus promoting the following of the Budo philosophy in different parts of the country.
